Sunrise Bridge Update

The new southern span of the Sunrise bridge carrying traffic to the Galleria mall and the beach opened to traffic on September 28, 2015, which was six months later than scheduled. As noted in the Sun-Sentinel on September 29, 2015: “Officials have said demolition and reconstruction of the northern half of the bridge should happen must faster than the southern half, because the water main work and other preliminary construction activities have been finished.” Completion, which originally was planned for March 2016, is now set for the summer of 2016. Let’s hope so!
