The East Point Towers Condominium is a 274-unit residential condominium community consisting of two 12-story “modernist-style” buildings constructed in 1975 (north tower) and 1978 (south tower) situated just north of Sunrise Boulevard bordered to the West by North Federal Highway and to the East by the Middle River. Despite sitting at the intersection of two busy thoroughfares, the location is relatively walk-able, with sidewalk connections to the Galleria Mall and other retail amenities, and easy auto access to area beaches and a wide range of destination retail properties offering shopping, night life, and some of Fort Lauderdale’s most popular restaurants.
The condominium units at East Point Towers are larger than those usually found in the Fort Lauderdale real estate market with some two-bedroom units in excess of 1900 sq. feet. Amenities at East Point Towers include covered parking, an extremely well-maintained and richly landscaped garden courtyard, spacious and serene riverfront swimming pool and BBQ space adjoining community rooms, a fitness center, and a private dock for smaller boats, all of which overlook the Middle River and George English Park. As a testament to the love of the complex, a handful of original owners are still living in the complex along with numerous other long-term residents. In addition, a new generation of building owners have recently chosen to make East Point Towers their home based on the historic character and potential for the buildings.
Both East Point Towers and the surrounding neighborhood are experiencing something of a renaissance, as evidenced by the renovation of distinctive older properties such the Classic Gateway Theatre; infrastructure improvements (notably the reconstruction of the new Sunrise Boulevard bridge) and significant new planned developments such as five new mixed-use buildings at the Galleria Mall and the planned luxury Riva condominium on the adjoining parcel to the north.
